 Today I discovered Blue

Today I discovered Blue like it was never there before.  It popped out of the fall scene that I wallpaper all my favorite things in.  Amongst all my favorite earth tones in the Autumn landscape there is a bright blue sky.  I discovered it today as if I had never seen the color before.  It is as cool and refreshing as HOPE and that is what it must be.

Hope has been the virtue that the Lord is planting in my life this season - When things don't seem as bright as you'd desire - and generally you're in  a place that seems beyond aid…..HOPE NEVER FAILS.

Now can we believe that?

I have been through a really hard season lately and Hope has been the hardest lesson amidst it - however it is the element that gives me breath in my lungs!

When we talk about autumn, Dad always says - yes - I love the weather - it just makes you feel good - gives you energy (makes you wanna work).  It is not the crunchy red leaves that give you that feeling it is the cool blue air!  It is Hope that gives breath to the lungs; life to the soul.  It is not circumstance that rules the day it is Hope.  Feed your soul - notice the BLUE today.

"Through Christ, all things are possible."  Philippians 4:13

"For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11

Making a Home for Themselves/ Budgeting and Visiting Roxie

Wednesday & Thursday were my days off……
I love days off - because I love being home.  There's nothing wrong with my job - it's a wonderful part-time job, however it is not meaningful to me.  At Teen Mania I could work 8-5 Monday through Friday, evenings and weekends because what I did was meaningful to me; SO the meaningful thing in my life is at home right now - therefore that is where I come alive and pour my energy into.

What is meaningful to me…..
I'm so glad for a time at home to invest into home and not work - I think this was the Lord's plan.  It has been so life-giving to be able to cultivate a nurturing heart for children by spending time with families and watching how each parents and cares for their children, babysitting, teaching the kids at the Wednesday night church service,  homemaking - baking, planning meals, cleaning, thinking of how to bless members of my family, sitting down and having conversations with them, and being able to take care of myself and my spirit - run, rest (finally recovered from a restless 4 years of 5-6hrs sleep cycles), journaling, being creative.

So my days off kind of went like this….

WEDNESDAY
  • Run
  • Get ready for the day
  • Eat Breakfast
  • Budget (so fun!  I love banking and managing my money)
  • Roxie stops in by surprise - Asked if I have time today to come visit her at her new home
  • Run Errands in Millersburg (Yay -I actually like errands, I really love getting things done). Including stopping at Jitters and booking my flight to TX for Beth and Ken's wedding.
  • Visit Roxie - so sweet to be able to sit and share a cup of coffee with my newlywed friend in her home
  • Go to church for dinner and teach the children
  • Go home and sit with my family

Roxie & Eli have an adorable little place in Applecreek.  Her kitchen is full of dishware and groceries from Family & Friends who helped supply their first home!  Eli's mom made this beautiful quilt.

THURSDAY
  • Spend time with the Lord
  • Upload photos to Snapfish - order 300 prints for $3 (yes!)
  • Get a phone call from Carrie asking if I could come stay at her house while the baby is sleeping for a bit.
  • Go to Carrie's, Bake cookies while I'm there
  • Play with the baby and Eden when she gets off the bus
  • Run to Wal-Mart with mom- help her grocery shop
  • Watch a girls soccer game (girls from my church)
  • Go home and sit with my family

I am so hungry for creativity and I have time for it so, I dive into PROJECTS - decorating rooms (painting canvases for my bathroom), printing photos and making albums from years that were never recorded, scrapbooking for my friends wedding, blogging.  When one is done, I start another one.  I also love the be organized - making things clear, functional, and simple makes me feel good!  (I love the magazine, Real Simple).  Along with that, I love throwing things away - if you don't need it, get rid of it! Simplify your life!

The Colors of Fall

Took the back roads home again today…..

This week, Fall is in it's most beautiful color - This is truly one of the most brilliant weeks of fall - the 2nd & 3rd week of OCTOBER.

Snapped a few shots of the view tonight….

When I enter the canopy I have to turn the music down - It's like the trees start a symphony with all the color and cool air - I wouldn't dare take away from it.

Yellow - is sOO…yellow!  It is brilliant.

This took my breath away.  Jesus you are the master artist!

I'm so glad to be home this year for Fall.
